This months' featured prospect is Pele Reid. Reid, who is currently 11-0-0 (11 KO's), is considered a "hot prospect" in Europe. Although he has only 11 fights and he is relatively unknown in the states, Reid is beginning to catch the eyes of the European boxing world. In only his 9th fight, Reid stepped up and fought a 12-rounder. His opponent was 14-3-1 Ricardo Kennedy and something called the WBO-Intercontinental championship was at stake. The fact that the fight was scheduled for twelve didn't matter because Reid stopped Kennedy in the first round. In his next bout, Reid defended his "championship" against 17-2-1 Eli Dixon. Again, Reid didn't need full twelve rounds. Instead, he stopped Dixon in the ninth. Reid has had one fight since then, a second-round stoppage of Albert Call. Reid has had a good year so far, but he is expected to make his move in '98.
