What's at Stake?
The WBA Welterweight Title and a possible showdown with WBC champ Oscar de la Hoya.
When will the Fight take Place?
On April 25.
What will it be on?
It will be televised on HBO.
Who will Win?
I will pick Whitaker by close decision. Although Quartey is an exceptional fighter, Whitaker should be out-box him. Quartey is a stand-up fighter and he relies on his jab. Ike will find it very difficult to land his thudding jab against defensive master Whitaker. However, if Pernell fights the way he did against Hurtado and Pestriaev, he might find himself being counted out. But if the same Whitaker that fought Oscar de la Hoya shows up on April 25, Quartey will probably find himself being the ex-champ, and "Sweet Pea" will win his seventh world title.
